Amazon Sword Echinodorus Bleheri LIVE AQUARIUM PLANT
Echinodorus bleheri is commonly known as the'Amazon Sword' and has been very popular in the fish keeping hobby for many years and certainly the most popular sword we have on sale. The leaves are broad and can straight. One plant can consist of up to 30 leaves and can reach 50cm in heights. Echinodorus bleheri is therefore ideally placed in the rear sections of the aquarium as a background plant. The leaves are sturdy and can vary from light to dark green colours. The sturdy leaves mean it's ideal for larger fish keeping or one's who like to nibble on plants. As one of the hardiest plants around, it makes a perfect beginner plant or for larger aquariums. It is a hardy and easy solitary plant for both beginners and the more experienced with quite large aquariums. It has been sold under the name ''Paniculatus''.
Echinodorus bleheri does well even in poorly illuminated aquariums, as it grows towards the light. A nutritious bottom promotes growth, but the plant needs pruning to prevent it depriving plants underneath of light. Echinodorus bleheri from South America is undemanding and beautiful, and becomes 20-50 cm tall.
